Credit Alligator. It is the first time I hear such word combination which also makes it difficult to search for its meaning. Even the famous wikipedia doesn't have a brief definition of Credit Alligator.
According to my understanding, Credit Alligator occurs when certain people, especially the creative groups and talents are too sensitive on how their names will be presented on the credit screen. It is when they gave the second greatest contribution to a project and they will found out that their names will be on the very end of credit screen. Then they will ask to change it for them, the producers will apology, try to mend things on how the group wants it to be. This incidents eats a lot of added time and effort where in the production will need to add "changes" expenses on their budget.
In order to avoid this kinds of incidents discuss how the credit screen will be presented earlier. So that they can prevent last minute changes where it may cause farther problems.
